100th Anniversary "Centenary" of British Powered Flight - SOLD TO BAE SYSTEMS

100th Anniversary "Centenary" of British Powered Flight   2008 marks the 100th Anniversary of the first powered controlled UK flight by Samuel F Cody. And it took place right here at Farnborough! Sam Cody's successful test flights in 1908 brought further recognition to the fields of Farnborough which had been used for the British Army's Balloon School. Eventually the British Air Force would be founded at Farnborough, and the RAF's most important aerospace test and research facility would take shape. Farnborough was synonymous with early British aerospace achievements, and remains so today.

At the Farnborough International Airshow 2008 we will be incorporating a series of special events and activities to commemorate this auspicious 100-year milestone, and use it as a springboard to present ideas of how the industry will grow and evolve during the next 100 years.

We are also planning a focus on environmental topics surrounding the aerospace sector, concentrating on ways to implement a sustainable future for one of the world’s most dynamic industries.

Our Centennial Events Programme will offer many innovative sponsorship possibilities, including the option of creating special presentations and programmes hand-in-hand with an individual sponsor.

60th Anniversary “Diamond Jubilee” of the Farnborough International Airshow - SOLD TO FINMECCANICA

60th Anniversary “Diamond Jubilee” of the Farnborough International Airshow
A further significant anniversary will take place in 2008: The 60th Anniversary of the Farnborough International Airshow itself. First established as a way for the British public to see and learn about the best of British aviation engineering, Farnborough has emerged as the world’s premier global showcase for all things aerospace. The original 187 exhibitors who assembled in 1948 have now been joined by some 1200 further companies from literally every part of the world. Over the decades dozens of new aircraft have made their debut at Farnborough. A tradition that continues today! We are currently planning a series of events for the 2008 show that look back at the successes of previous Farnborough Airshows, reminding exhibitors and visitors alike the important role Farnborough itself has played in leading the industry to its present success. As with the Centenary Events, there are many ways a sponsor can be associated with the Diamond Anniversary to gain enormous brand visibility and demonstrate its ongoing commitment to an aerospace legend.

Mobile Communications Equipment Rental - SOLD TO CELLHIRE

Mobile Communications Equipment Rental

The Farnborough International Airshow is exactly that: “International”. It attracts exhibitors and visitors from literally all over the word. Many of these, especially those coming from North America, will require mobile phones and other wireless devices that are compatible with the systems and standards used in the United Kingdom if they are to remain in contact with their offices, colleagues that are with them in the UK, and friends and family at home. One company is designated the Official Supplier of such equipment and the organiser helps make their services known to potential users.

Courtesy Cars / Golf Buggies

Courtesy Cars / Golf Buggies

The Farnborough International Airshow consists of trade halls, hospitality chalets & static aircraft displays spread over a several hundred hectare site alongside the main runway at the Farnborough Airport in Hampshire, England.  The organisers offer VIP visitors and exhibitors a Courtesy Car service to use at their convenience to move from one area of the vast show grounds to another.  Cars remain on standby in a central area throughout the show and are dispatched with professional drivers hired by the show organiser to collect and deliver passengers within the show grounds as requested.  In a sense, the cars become an internal 'limousine service'. Additional cars are used off-site to transport VIP visitors to and from central London or Heathrow Airport. 14 further utility vehicles are required for use on the airside of the show grounds, and are used to tow aircraft and transport flight crew. These vehicles become an integral part of the air show and are featured on the runway during the vehicle cavalcade on pubic days.

Official Airline

Official Airline

Exhibitors and Visitors fly to Farnborough from almost every country on Earth. To help meet both their immediate-term requirements -- involving travel to and from the show itself -- and their longer-term requirements for business and holiday flights we want to designate an Official Airline. Such an appointment would enable us to establish a web link between our site and the airline’s site, add that airline’s logo to the print promotional materials we distribute worldwide, offer the airline an on-site presence during the show itself f to offer booking and re-confirmation services, and in other ways offer rights and benefits that will deepen the connection between the airline and our own loyal audience of repeat customers.

Courier / Express Delivery Company - SOLD TO DHL

Courier / Express Delivery Company

Farnborough International has regular written communication with the top echelon of the aerospace industry, both those who manufacture aircraft and those who buy. Several times during the two-year cycle between shows Farnborough sends important documents via courier to either exhibitors or visitors. These parcels can include the exhibitors’ space allocation agreements and other critical forms, as well as show tickets, parking labels and VIP chalet and opening ceremony invitations. Often these packages make their way unopened right to the offices of C-level government and private sector leaders. This exposure can provide a valuable boost of publicity for a courier company looking to establish or expand its aerospace industry penetration.

Security Screening Equipment

Farnborough International takes visitor and exhibitor safety and security very seriously. Accordingly, measures are put in place at each of the show entrances to screen those entering the site for various items. Accordingly, thousands of officials from a full range of government agencies, airports, airlines and private business security firms will see the equipment ‘up close and personal’ as it is actually deployed on site to screen them! A manufacturer could not hope for a better marketing and sales opportunity. The provider of such equipment for Farnborough International can have the right to display signage above and adjacent to the screening equipment, as well as literature display racks, and to have its own personnel positioned nearby to answer technical queries.
